Leading Across Borders | Lufthansa
Challenge
Launching Lufthansa's new nonstop service from San Jose to Frankfurt required more than announcing a new route — it required introducing one of the world's leading airlines to a new market through an experience worthy of its global brand. The event brought together airline executives, airport leadership, media, partners, and guests, all while coordinating across multiple organizations with international stakeholders and high expectations.
Success depended on balancing creative vision with operational precision, ensuring every touchpoint reflected Lufthansa's premium brand while keeping dozens of moving pieces aligned.
Contribution
Served as the Experiential and Creative Lead, responsible for shaping the overall guest experience while coordinating the creative and logistical execution of the launch. Working across internal teams, production partners, vendors, airport leadership, and Lufthansa stakeholders, I guided creative development, production planning, event logistics, schedules, and cross-functional communication from concept through execution.
Because live events leave little room for error, preparation was essential. Establishing clear expectations, detailed production plans, and consistent communication enabled every team to execute confidently while remaining flexible enough to respond to the unexpected.
Outcome
The launch successfully introduced Lufthansa's newest international gateway while delivering an experience that reflected the airline's premium reputation and strengthened relationships with passengers, partners, and community stakeholders.
The project reinforced a leadership principle that continues to guide my work: exceptional experiences don't happen by chance. They happen when creative vision, operational planning, and cross-functional teams move together with clarity and purpose.
